Do I need experience to apply?
No, prior experience is not required! We offer excellent opportunities for those new to our field and eager to gain experience. For our support specialists, we provide comprehensive training and hands-on experience to help you grow successfully in your role. This opportunity is perfect for individuals looking to make a positive impact, students, those seeking secondary employment, and anyone looking to gain valuable experience.
What does the application process look like?
Our on-boarding process is continually evolving to be as straightforward and efficient as possible for new team members. The process includes application reviews, reference checks, in-person interviews, background checks, drug screenings, TB testing, HR paperwork, new employee orientation, and training.
What are the background checks?
All employees must obtain Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI clearances, which we cover the costs for. As a provider for the Tri-Counties Regional Center and pursuant to Title 17 California Code of Regulations, Section 58643 58614(c)(7), Royal Day Solutions cannot employ individuals with felony convictions or records of physical, sexual, or fiduciary offenses. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for any incidents that could compromise the integrity of our services.
What is the drug-screening process?
To ensure the safety of our employees and the individuals we support, we require all new hires to pass a drug screening in accordance with California standards.
What would my training look like?
We are committed to providing thorough training for our employees. Royal Day Solutions offers and covers training in areas such as First Aid/CPR, Sexual Harassment, Competency-Based Training, on-the-job field training, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training, and specialized training for specific areas.
What does a typical day look like?
Every day at Royal Day Solutions is different, which is one of the most rewarding aspects of our work. We provide individualized support tailored to each person's needs. Daily activities may include assisting with volunteering, education, work, transportation training, community connections, money management, personal care, medication support, health and wellness goals, exercise, and behavioral support.
Who would I support?
We support adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, aged 18 and older, throughout Ventura County. Royal Day Solutions serves individuals with a variety of needs and diagnoses, primarily funded through the Tri-Counties Regional Center.
Am I required to drive people?
Yes, driving is a requirement for most positions. We encourage the use of public transportation to support individuals in developing independence. When public transportation is not feasible, employees use their own vehicles to transport individuals. Employees must have a valid driver's license, access to a vehicle, and current car insurance. We reimburse mileage at the federal rate.
What if I am not a good match for who I am supposed to support?
We strive to match employees with individuals based on various factors such as interests, location, availability, and skills. If the initial match is not ideal, we work collaboratively to identify solutions and provide additional support and training. If necessary, we will reassign you to a different group better suited to your strengths.
What benefits do you offer?
We offer a comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees, including health insurance with employer contributions, dental, vision, Aflac, 401K, vacation time, sick leave, bereavement leave, holiday pay, mileage reimbursement, birthday bonuses, employee referral bonuses, phone/data stipends, access to an employee resource center, promotional opportunities, and ongoing training. Additionally, we foster an inclusive, supportive, and comfortable working environment.
Can I request time off?
Absolutely! We understand the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Time off requests are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Non-holiday requests should be submitted at least 14 days in advance, and holiday requests 30 days in advance, unless the Company is closed for the holiday. We make every effort to approve all timely and policy-compliant requests.
What advancement opportunities are there?
We pride ourselves on promoting from within and encourage open discussions about growth opportunities. We offer various training programs, and many of our management team members have been promoted from direct support roles.
